When middle school teacher Jo Ellen Misakian petitioned Francis Ford Coppola to turn S.E. Hinton's book about growing up in Oklahoma into a film, little did she know that it would give birth to what morphed into the 1980s "Brat Pack" and what would ultimately launch several actors into stardom.

The Outsiders featured a cast of young Hollywood who's who, including C. Thomas Howell, Matt Dillon, Ralph Macchio, Patrick Swayze, Rob Lowe, Tom Cruise, Emilio Estevez, and Diane Lane.

So does it stand the test of time? The Dorks sure think so. What do you think?
