A preacher with a mysterious past comes to the rescue of a small mining village as a greedy mining baron tries to muscle them out.

While Pale Rider has the refrains of so many westerns that preceded it, this version – produced, directed and featuring Clint Eastwood – is surprisingly entertaining, both as a story and as an artistic endeavor. Interesting use of lighting, nonverbal cues and music manage to make this film stand apart from the dying genre.

The Dorks climb onto their ponies and take a trip back to 1854 California gold country and talk about what works and doesn't work in this 1985 classic.
