After a long lull in superhero movies, fans rejoiced when Tim Burton teamed up with Michael Keaton and the one and only Jack Nicholson to bring us the 1989 classic, Batman.

This film arguably began a renaissance in comic superhero movies, and brought a whole new luster to the genre.
